McLaren signed a letter of intent Dec. 4 to acquire St. Luke’s, which will be its first hospital outside of Michigan.
The 14-hospital health system also plans to upgrade St. Luke’s ICU and surgical suites and build a new cancer center.
The deal is pending approval from both organizations as well as state regulators and is expected to close by mid-2020.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
