Rockford Orthopedic Associates’ Dr. Michael Chmell Joins Notre Dame Advisory Council

Michael Chmell, MD, a knee surgeon with Rockford Orthopedic Associates, has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the College of Engineering Advisory Council at the University of Notre Dame, according to a Rockford Register Star news report.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Chmell serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Dr. Chmell earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago Medical School and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. His additional training includes a primary and revision joint replacement surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard University Medical School in Boston.
