Florida hospital opens orthopedic tower — 4 insights

Ocala, Fla.-based West Marion Community Hospital recently added an orthopedic-facing addition to its hospital, Ocala-News.com reports.

What you should know:

1. The hospital added a surgical tower with 36 inpatient beds dedicated to orthopedics.

2. West Marion’s parent organization, Ocala Health, said work would soon begin on a second expansion.

3. The 13,000-square-foot expansion will house a cath lab and a dedicated 10-bed pre- and postoperative recovery unit.

4. Hospital officials expect the new cath lab will be complete by fall 2020.
