1. AMB was one of five competition winners. The National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation hosted the pitch competition.
2. AMB and the other winners will gain access to the consortium’s device accelerator program as well.
3. All five companies pitched devices for pediatric orthopedics or spine ailments.
4. AMD created the Flyte device, which is a mixture of miniature gearing, power, sensors and remote-controlled wireless communication technologies. The device attaches to a scoliosis patient’s spine and can be remotely contracted or expanded as needed, preventing invasive surgeries.
