The Switzerland-based company was founded two decades ago with the mission of improving tools and resources for orthopedic surgeons. The company held its 9th Medacta Orthopedic Research and Education International Symposium in Switzerland this week.
The symposium this year examines personalized medicine and the impact of customizable tools and patient-matched solutions in orthopedics. Orthopedic surgeons from around the world are in attendance.
Medacta has grown since its founding to include minimally invasive surgical techniques, including the anterior minimally invasive approach to hip replacements. It also introduced the MySolutions technology for preoperative planning in hip, knee, shoulder and spine procedures. The company employs around 970 people.
