Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Henry Ellis of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children

Henry Ellis, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.

Dr. Ellis is also affiliated with Dallas-based University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he serves as an assistant orthopedic surgery professor.

With expertise in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, Dr. Ellis’ additional specialties include pediatric arthroscopy and hip injuries and conditions.

A founding member of the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society, Dr. Ellis is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Association of North America, among other professional organizations.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, Dr. Ellis completed his residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He underwent sports medicine fellowship training at Vail, Colo.-based Steadman Philippon Research Institute and the Steadman Clinic as well as pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship training at the Hospital for Sick Children at University of Toronto in Canada.
