ZAP Surgical launches radiosurgery platform at Barrow Brain and Spine: 3 details

Surgeons began using ZAP Surgical Systems’ gyroscopic radiosurgery platform ZAP-X at Barrow Brain and Spine in Phoenix.

Three details:

1. ZAP-X is designed to provide high-dose stereotactic radiosurgery to noninvasive brain tumors and other intracranial conditions.

2. Barrow Brain and Spine is the first global provider of ZAP-X, said F. David Barranco, CMO and neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

3. “ZAP-X is a novel platform designed to bring neuro-radiosurgery to the more than one million patients that every year lack access to such noninvasive therapy,” said Igor Barani, MD, associate professor and chair of radiation oncology at Barrow Neurological Institute.
