Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Rick Wright of Washington University in St. Louis

Rick Wright, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Dr. Wright is also affiliated with St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital and VA St. Louis Health Care System — John Cochran Division.

He serves as vice chairman of orthopedic surgery as well as director of orthopedic clinical research at Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Wright’s specialties include sports medicine, arthroscopy, anterior cruciate ligament injury and revision and shoulder instability.

In 2018, Dr. Wright was appointed president-elect of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Dr. Wright completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., and underwent sports medicine fellowship training at Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center.
