Dr. Contreras is also affiliated with Walnut Creek-based John Muir Medical Center and San Ramon (Calif.) Regional Medical Center.
His specialties include sports medicine, pediatric orthopedics and knee replacement.
Previously, Dr. Contreras served as chief of orthopedics at San Francisco General Hospital. He also used to teach as an assistant orthopedic surgery professor at UC San Francisco School of Medicine.
Dr. Contreras is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Western Orthopaedic Association and Inman-Abbott Society.
After earning his medical degree from and completing his residency at UC San Francisco School of Medicine, Dr. Contreras underwent orthopedic trauma fellowship training at San Francisco General Hospital.
