Here are three things to know:
1. Saint Anne’s is the only Massachusetts hospital to earn the certification.
2. A Joint Commission expert evaluated the spine surgery program for criteria including compliance with national standards, effective and consistent use of appropriate evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for patients undergoing discectomy, laminectomy and spinal fusion, and spine surgery-specific performance measures.
3. Saint Anne’s Hospital launched the state’s first navigation-guided robotic-assisted spine surgery program in December 2017 with its installation of Globus Medical’s ExcelsiusGPS system.
