40 surgeons to provide free hip & joint replacements: 3 things to know

Approximately 40 orthopedic surgeons will provide free hip and joint replacements at 25 hospitals nationwide during Operation Walk USA 2018, Dec. 3-9.

Here are three things to know:

1. Operation Walk USA began in 2010 following the success of Operation Walk, a volunteer medical service organization that provides treatment for patients with arthritis and joint conditions in developing nations.

2. Since its inception, Operation Walk USA has provided joint replacement surgeries valued at more than $20 million to nearly 800 patients.

3. DePuy Synthes, DJO, Smith & Nephew, Stryker, Total Joint Orthopedics and Zimmer Biomet are donating implants for the 2018 Operation Walk USA.
