Here are four things to know:

1. With the new addition, Catalyst’s shoulder system offers surgeons the chance to choose between its two- or three-peg glenoid implants.

2. The three-peg implant was created with a new backside anchoring element design, which was made to promote secure fixation of the implant with the glenoid bone.

3. The implant was also designed with tapered walls on the bearing surface to reduce the effects of eccentric loading, which can contribute to implant loosening.

4. With a multiplanar stemless design, the CSR system was designed to preserve bone and with an elliptical humeral component that mimics the anatomy of the natural shoulder.
