Dr. Valdes received his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Faculty of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia, and underwent spine surgery and orthopedic trauma fellowship training at Providence, R.I.-based Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Valdes performs minimally invasive and complex reconstructive spine surgery. His research focuses on the cellular biology of spinal fusions and developing stem cell-based techniques to produce new bone, stabilizing areas of the spine that are causing pain. In his spare time, Dr. Valdes enjoys art and travel.
