Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Ronald Navarro of Kaiser Permanente

Ronald A. Navarro, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with Kaiser Permanente, based in Oakland, Calif.

Dr. Navarro is also affiliated with Pasadena-based Southern California Permanente Medical Group and South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, Calif.

With expertise in shoulder arthroplasty and cartilage restoration, Dr. Navarro serves as the regional chief of orthopedic surgery at Kaiser Permanente’s 13 southern California locations. He also specializes in sports medicine.

Dr. Navarro is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and California Orthopaedic Association, serving on the board of directors for both.

After earning his medical degree from Peoria-based University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Navarro completed a residency at Harbor UC Los Angeles and a fellowship in joint replacement at the UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. He underwent additional fellowship training in sports medicine, arthroscopy and shoulder surgery at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
