K2M’s Q1 2018 revenue spikes to $67.9M, complex spine segment experiences 8% growth

K2M releases its first quarter 2018 financial results, showing all areas of the business are booming.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. First quarter revenues increased by 10 percent year-over-year, topping $67.88 million. U.S. revenue reached $49.89 million in the first quarter of 2018, an 8 percent increase year over year.

2. K2M’s U.S. complex spine business saw an 8 percent growth year-over-year. In the first quarter of 2018, the segment brought in $18.51 million in revenue compared to $17.14 million in 2017.

3. The company’s minimally invasive segment grew from $7.87 million in revenue in the first quarter of 2017 to $8.38 million in the first quarter of 2018, a 6.4 percent increase year over year.

4. Following the same pattern of growth, the regenerative segment revenue increased by 8.5 percent year over year, from $21.2 million in the first quarter of 2017 to $23 million in the first quarter of 2018.

5. K2M expects 2018 full-year revenues to be between $283 million and $287 million, representing a 10 percent to 11 percent increase in year-over-year growth.
