Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. David Essig of University Orthopaedic Associates

David Essig, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at University Orthopaedic Associates in Great Neck, N.Y.

Dr. Essig also serves as an assistant professor at the Hempstead, N.Y.-based Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He is affiliated with several area hospitals, including New York City-based Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Manhasset, N.Y.-based North Shore University Hospital.

Dr. Essig received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. He underwent fellowship training at the New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
