Dr. Michael Hisey to present findings from Zimmer Biomet Mobi-C post-hoc analysis — 5 highlights

Michael Hisey, MD, will deliver a podium presentation on Zimmer Biomet’s Mobi-C Cervical Disc.

Here are five highlights.

1. The presentation will include a post-hoc analysis of seven-year follow-up data from a Mobi-C study.

2. The study included 599 patients from the U.S. Investigational Device Exemption study of cervical total disc replacement. Researchers compared the frequency of subsequent surgeries for Mobi-C Cervical Disc versus anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.

3. The Mobi-C is the first FDA-approved cervical disc prosthesis for reconstruction of the cervical disc at both one and two levels to treat neck or arm pain. Composed of cobalt chromium alloy and polyethylene, the Mobi-C is inserted in one step.

4. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Hisey serves as medical director of Plano-based Texas Back Institute.

5. The presentation will occur at the 2018 International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery Annual Meeting, running from April 11 to April 13 in Toronto, Canada.
