Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Carmina F. Angeles of the NeuroSpine Institute

 
Carmina F. Angeles, MD, PhD, is a board certified neurosurgeon at the NeuroSpine Institute in Eugene, Ore.

Dr. Angeles specializes in minimally invasive techniques to treat common spinal conditions such as disc herniation, lumbar stenosis and degenerative spinal conditions. She also specializes in performing complex decompression and stabilization for tumor, vertebral body fractures and degenerative scoliosis.

 

Dr. Angeles received her dual doctorate degrees in medicine and neurophysiology from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., where she completed a medical scientist training program. She underwent spine fellowship training at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif.

 

She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Lane County Medical Society among other professional organizations.

 

She is a member of the Eugene Salseros Dance Company and is certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors as a scuba diver.
