Additionally, Dr. Truumees is a professor at Dell Medical School in Austin and director of spine research at Seton Spine and Scoliosis Center in Austin. He is a deputy editor for The Spine Journal and editor-in-chief for AAOS Now.
Dr. Truumees is a member of the Cervical Spine Research Society and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He serves on the board of directors for the North American Spine Society.
After earning his medical degree from Charlottesville-based University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. Truumees completed his residency at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Truumees is also fellowship trained from William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.
