Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Debra Zillmer of Mayo Clinic

Debra Zillmer, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with professional interest in sports medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Dr. Zillmer serves as team physician for the U.S. Soccer Federation. She previously served as team physician for the U.S. women’s national soccer team.

 

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Zillmer’s clinical interests include bone and joint health of women and sports injury prevention. She has published multiple articles on rotator cuff tears in young athletes.

 

After earning her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y., Dr. Zillmer completed her residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Zillmer completed her fellowship training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
