Former neurosurgeon Dr. Marc Eichler receives 3-year sentence in sex abuse case — 4 key points

Marc Eichler, MD, a former neurosurgeon in Minot, N.D., received a three-year prison sentence in a federal sex abuse case, according to kfgo.com.

1. Dr. Eichler faced federal sex abuse charges for sending sexually explicit texts and photos to both a 12-year-old girl and 13-year old girl in 2015.

 

2. Additionally, he faced accusations of giving one girl gifts and funding hotel rooms for her and her friends.

 

3. On May 25, Dr. Eichler pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court of one count of possessing child pornography. Prosecutors dropped other charges.

 

4. The North Dakota medical board had previously suspended Dr. Eichler’s license, noting unprofessional conduct.
