Mount Sinai West earns advanced certification for hip, knee replacement: 3 highlights

New York City-based Mount Sinai West has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.

Here’s what you need to know:

 

1. The Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement, which is awarded for a two-year period, was established at the beginning of 2016.

 

2. New York City-based Mount Sinai Beth Israel also earned this advanced certification in September 2016, during a separate review; at that time, Mount Sinai Beth Israel was the only hospital in New York state with this recognition.

 

3. Today, there are 25 orthopedic programs in the United States that have received this advanced certificate, in addition to Mount Sinai West.
