• Emotional problems: 69 percent report bias
• Heavier weight: 69 percent
• Low intelligence: 42 percent
• Lack of insurance: 37 percent
• Language difference: 31 percent
• Low income: 25 percent
• Race different from the physician: 14 percent
• Physical unattractiveness: 10 percent
• Gender different from the physician: 7 percent

 

Older than 45 years

 

• Emotional problems: 48 percent report bias
• Heavier weight: 67 percent
• Low intelligence: 29 percent
• Lack of insurance: 26 percent
• Language difference: 24 percent
• Low income: 8 percent
• Race different from the physician: 8 percent
• Physical unattractiveness: 11 percent
• Gender different from the physician: 2 percent
