Leawood, Kan.-based Kansas City Orthopedic Institute opened a new urgent care facility in Leawood, the Shawnee Mission Post reports.

1. The urgent care facility offers access to orthopedic specialists seven days a week.

 

2. Mark Rasmussen, MD, says the center serves as an alternative to emergency rooms and can help keep patient costs low.

 

3. The urgent care facility has a rotating staff of 25 physicians and offers onsite diagnostic imaging, bracing, splinting, casting and rehabilitation therapy.
