Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Christopher Aland of Rothman Institute

Christopher M. Aland, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine as well as the Arthroscopy Association of North America, where he serves as a master instructor.

Dr. Aland focuses on arthroscopic treatment of shoulder disorders, particularly rotator cuff tears, as well as treatment of knee conditions, including ACL tears and meniscal pathology. He has served as the team physician for local high schools. He is also a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He previously served as an assistant professor of orthopedics at the former Allegheny University in Philadelphia.

 

Dr. Aland completed his medical degree at University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and his orthopedic residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, now known as Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Brunswick.
