Theken Spine Receives Grant for Equipment Purchasing

Theken Spine, an Akron, Ohio-based maker of implantable hardware for spinal fusion surgery, has been approved for a $200,000 Rapid Outreach grant from the Ohio Controlling Board, according to a Medcity News report.

Theken Spine plans on using the grant to purchase new machinery and equipment. The company is consolidating four facilities in Medina, Ohio, which will be used for offices, warehousing and product manufacturing.

The company was acquired by Integra LifeSciences in 2008.
