Dr. Richard Smith to present on hip, knee pain — 5 things to know

On April 19, orthopedic surgeon Richard Smith, MD, is giving a presentation titled “Knee or Hip Pain Wearing You Down?” according to Sippican Village Soup.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Fall River, Mass.-based Saint Anne’s Hospital’s Center for Orthopedic Excellence is sponsoring the event.

 

2. In 2011, Saint Anne’s Hospital began offering MAKOplasty to relieve knee and joint plain.

 

3. Attendees can meet patients who have successfully undergone MAKOplasty, and can have a one-on-one meeting with Dr. Smith to discuss the procedure.

 

4. After earning his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., he completed his orthopedic residency at Worcester-based University of Massachusetts Medical center.

 

5. Dr. Smith runs his practice, PrimaCARE, in Fall River.
