Active Implants initiates 2nd NUsurface meniscus implant trial: 4 things to know

Active Implants initiated its second clinical trial for the investigational NUsurface meniscus implant.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The Safety Using NUsurface, or SUN, trial will enroll approximately 120 patients with persistent knee pain.

 

2. It will include up to 20 sites nationwide.

 

3. NUsurface is meniscus replacement implant for patients with injured or deteriorating meniscus cartilages.

 

4. Active Implants first clinical trial for NUsurface, the VENUS Study, has been underway at 10 sites in the United States since January 2015.
