Here are four notes:
1. The experts’ findings will be published in a medical journal and shared across the United States. The research is intended to make scientific, clinical and therapy recommendations for other healthcare professionals to replicate.
2. Experts will meet with representatives from the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense to share insights on the best practices based on clinical expertise and research.
3. Julian Bailes, MD, of NorthShore University Health System in Chicago, is expected to attend the meeting. He is also the chairman of the medical advisory board for Pop Warner Football.
4. The meeting is completely funded by a grant from the NFL Foundation.
