4 things to know about Southern Orthopaedic Association’s new president Dr. Darren Johnson

Southern Orthopaedic Association named Darren L. Johnson, MD, its 33rd president, according to The Lane Report.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Dr. Johnson is the chair of the department of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at UK HealthCare in Lexington.

 

2. He has a professional interest in arthroscopy, knee and shoulder reconstruction, orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.

 

3. He completed fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

 

4. The Southern Orthopaedic Association, founded in 1983, includes more than 1,400 orthopedic physicians.
