J&J Orthopedics sales drop 5.6% in Q2: 5 key notes

Johnson & Johnson’s orthopedics business reported $2.3 billion in sales for the second quarter.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. Total sales for the orthopedics line were down 5.6 percent over the same period last year.

 

2. United States sales were up 2.1 percent, hitting $1.3 billion last quarter.

 

3. International sales took a huge dip — dropping 14.1 percent — last quarter. International orthopedics sales were $1 billion.

 

4. At the six months in, the orthopedics line reported $4.6 billion worldwide. That’s a 4.7 percent drop from the first half of last year.

 

5. In the first six months of the year, international sales were down 12 percent and United States sales were up 1.7 percent for the orthopedics line.
