Dr. Harlan Selesnick performs knee surgery on Miami Heat’s Mario Chalmers: 4 things to know

Harlan Selesnick, MD, of the Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Doctors Hospital in Miami, and team physician for the Miami Heat, performed arthroscopic knee surgery on Miami Heat’s Mario Chalmers, according to the Miami Herald.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The procedure lasted 20 minutes, and was performed at Doctor’s Hospital.

 

2. The surgery was aimed to relieve an inflamed Plica in Mr. Chalmers’ knee, which began during this season, although he played through the pain.

 

3. Mr. Chalmers tweeted “Surgery was a success, now time to rehab, start workin out.”

 

4. Mr. Chalmers is scheduled to return by the start of preseason training.
