Ephraim McDowell Regional among 1st in Kentucky to offer targeted-radiofrequency ablation

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky., is one of the first few facilities in the state to offer targeted-radiofrequency ablation therapy, according to a report by The Messenger Advocate.

The therapy aims to provide rapid pain relief from metastatic spinal tumors. Rick Pellant, DO, performs the minimally invasive procedure at the hospital. Targeted-radiofrequency ablation involves the use of DFINE’s STAR Tumor Ablation System, according to the report.
