Vivex Biomedical names Lou Barnes president, COO of tissue bank

Vivex Biomedical named Lou Barnes president and COO of UMTB Biomedical.

Vivex Biomedical formed UMTB Biomedical as a wholly-owned subsidiary to acquire the University of Miami Tissue Bank in November 2014.

 

Mr. Barnes has 25 years of experience in the tissue banking industry, and most recently served as executive director of DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank. Mr. Barnes is also the current chair of American Association of Tissue Banks Processing & Distribution Council and a member of AATB’s board of governors.

 

Vivex Biomedical is a privately held company focused on cellular therapies that treat orthopedic, spine, wound and soft tissue indications.
