Boston Scientific announced plans to expand its Chinese market presence. The company is adding new employees and surgeon training centers in China.
Globus Medical has acquired Excelsius Surgical, a company that develops next generation surgical robotic positioning platforms for spine, brain and therapeutic applications.
Medtronic purchased Tryx, a producer of antibacterial envelopes for medical devices, for $160 million. Tryx’s main product is the AIGISRx Antibacterial Envelope, which is place around implants prior to implantation.
MicroPort Scientific plans to open an 8,500-square-foot facility in Arlington, Tenn. The new facility is a part of the company’s plan to transition to ownership of MicroPort Orthopedics, which it recently acquired from Wright Medical.
