Dr. Richard Reitman Implants First TaperFill Total Hip Replacement by DJO Global

San Diego-based DJO Global had its first TaperFill Total Hip Replacement implanted during a minimally invasive surgery.

The device uses a wedge stem philosophy and is fabricated with a proprietary porous coating for bone ingrowth. DJO Global designed the device with a younger population of hip replacement patients than in the past. Implants now need to last longer than before.

Richard Reitman, MD, co-designed and implanted the first TaperFill at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Plano.
