The OsteoAnchor is designed to keep implants from loosening over time with its gripping surface, which increases the life of the joint replacement. The gripping claws also encourage new bone growth. It is made from a titanium alloy using a 3-D printing process.
The research and development team plans for first-in-man clinical trials in 2014.
