Harrisburg (Ill.) Medical Center is opening a new spine surgery unit, according to a Daily Register report.
The new unit will provide same-day, outpatient surgery to treat spine-related conditions. The hospital's CEO, Rodney Smith, was the first patient to receive care at the unit. He underwent a procedure to relieve the effects of spinal stenosis, according to the report.
