Here are 15 spine surgeons and spine specialists who joined new practices or hospitals in the past two months.

Louisiana Back Institute welcomed fellowship-trained spine surgeon K. Samer Shamieh, MD.

 

Fellowship-trained spine surgeon Brennen Smith, DO, joined Bellefontaine, Ohio-based Mary Rutan Hospital Orthopedics.

 

Neurosurgeon Ann Marie Flannery, MD, joined Women's & Children's Hospital in Lafayette, La.

 

Tung T. Nguyen, MD, joined New England Neck and Spine Institute in Nashua, N.H., with a special focus on spinal cord tumors and brain tumors.

 

Geneva, N.Y.-based Finger Lakes Health welcomed orthopedic spine surgeon Chibuikem Akamnonu, MD, who completed a fellowship in spine surgery at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases.

 

Rodigo Cayme, MD, an interventional spine medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, joined the Dallas-based Spine Physicians Institute.

 

Debra Petrucci, MD, joined the medical staff of Yale New Haven (Con.) Hospital and Yale School of Medicine after serving as chief of neurosurgery at White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital.

 

Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute welcomed William O. Reed Jr., MD, to its physician team at the company's St. Louis location.

 

Robert Ayer, MD, joined Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Gwinnett Medical Group's Brain and Spine Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center after completing a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine at Swedish Neuroscience Institute.

 

Reston-based Virginia Spine Institute welcomed physiatrist and interventional pain medicine physician Gaurav Telhan, MD, to the medical staff.
