8 orthopedic moves in the Northeast over the past 60 days

Here are eight orthopedic center acquisitions, openings, expansions and partnerships in the Northeast that Becker's has reported on since Aug. 28:

1. Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Allegheny Health Network, Highmark and St. Vincent announced a project to bring a $7 million orthopedic and sports medicine complex to Erie, Pa.

2. Freehold, N.J.-based Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute, which is part of Health Plus Management, partnered with the practice of Joseph Tauro, MD, located in Toms River, N.J.

3. Rome (N.Y.) Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is relocating to the Rome system's main campus in November.

4. Woodbury, N.Y.-based South Island Orthopedics, an affiliate of management services organization Health Plus Management, is expanding into Rockaway, N.Y., in collaboration with St. John's Episcopal Hospital. 

5. Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network unveiled a $44 million specialty hospital for same-day orthopedic surgeries in Allentown, Pa.

6. New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery opened a location in Southampton, N.Y.

7. Freehold, N.J.-based Alliance Orthopedics opened a new office location in Randolph, N.J., bringing its total number of locations to six. 

8. Laconia, N.H.-based Concord Orthopaedics and Concord Hospital Laconia permanently dissolved their partnership.
