X-Spine Systems to License Gamma Spine’s Minimally Invasive Spinal Fixation Technology

Miamisburg, Ohio-based X-spine Systems, a global manufacturer of implants and instruments for spinal surgery, has entered into an exclusive license agreement with Toledo, Ohio-based Gamma Spine for the development and distribution of its minimally invasive spinal fixation technology, according to an X-spine news release.

Gamma Spine will participate in the development process with X-spine. The patent-pending device allows for the fixation of adjacent vertebral segments with minimal tissue disruption while attaining the biomechanical advantages of a traditional full-exposure system, according to the release.

The license agreement is part of X-spine’s strategy to address the continuing market trend towards smaller, cost-effective procedures in spinal surgery, according to the release.
