The 95,000-square-foot facility has 48 beds for rehab patients and 25 beds for orthopedic patients, along with four operating rooms. About 150 employees were hired for the opening and about 240 total will be hired by mid-2014.
The rehab and surgery center will also open up space and volume capacity at the health system’s York Hospital, allowing it to transition patients more easily from the emergency room to inpatient beds.
