WellSpan Health opens new sports medicine practice: 5 notes

York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health opened a WellSpan Sports Medicine clinic in Ephrata, Pa., according to Central Penn Business Journal.

Here are five things to know:

1. In addition to imaging, physical therapy and acupuncture services, the clinic offers concussion evaluation impact testing and platelet-rich plasma therapy.

2. Physicians Zachary Geidel, MD, Mary Tierney, MD, and Jitesh Umarvadia, MD, began seeing patients Oct. 3.

3. Dr. Geidel is a board-certified sports and family medicine physician. His specialties include elbow and foot and ankle conditions as well as joint aspiration and soft tissue injections.

4. Dr. Tierney is a board-certified family medicine physician who specializes in acupuncture and elbow, foot and ankle, hand, wrist and shoulder conditions.

5. Dr. Umarvadia is a board-certified sports and family medicine physician. His specialties include elbow, hand, wrist and shoulder conditions.
