Jay Purvis, CEO of Wabash General, orchestrated the deal. He said recruiting young physicians right out of residency has been difficult for small hospitals like Wabash General and predicted other challenges in the future.
“This is another example of how important it is to make every effort to scholarship our areas’ talented young people who go into the medical field so they will come back home to serve with Wabash General hospital and have productive lives and careers,” Mr. Purvis said in the report.
