The program will serve nearly 40 schools and was made possible by a gift provided by Lyle Cain, MD, Champion Sports Medicine and St. Vincent Health System. UWA’s Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Center will oversee the program, which provides certified athletic trainers to educate the school athletic leaders in preventing and evaluating injury for their athletes.

The program hopes to eventually provide a certified athletic trainer to each school.
