USC Names Dr. Jay Lieberman Chair of Orthopedic Surgery Department

Jay Lieberman, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, has been named professor and chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.

He will assume this position on Sept. 1. Dr. Lieberman has also been named orthopedist-in-chief at the Keck Medical Center of USC, director of the USC Institute of Orthopaedics and chief of orthopedics at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center.

Dr. Lieberman was previously the chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Connecticut Health and director for the New England Musculoskeletal Institute. He is currently the principle investigator for the RO-1 study on the use of regional gene delivery to heal critical-sized bone defects.
