USA Gymnastics hires former orthopedic, sports medicine hospital director as VP of athlete health and wellness

USA Gymnastics announced Kim Kranz as the organization’s first vice president of athlete health and wellness on Jan. 8.

Ms. Kranz previously served as director of sports medicine and orthopedic surgery services and neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Va.

She has more than 20 years of experience in sports medicine and will supervise the development of educational and guidance programs for athletes in all areas of health and wellness.

Ms. Kranz will also oversee USA Gymnastics’ strategy and execution of sports medicine services.

She assumed the position last month.
