US Olympic Committee Selects Dr. Hamish Kerr as Team Physician for US Rugby

The United States Olympic Committee has selected Hamish Kerr, MD, a sports medicine specialist at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center, to serve as a team physician for the U.S. rugby team, according to a report from The Business Review.

Dr. Kerr will travel with the team to the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Kerr earned his medical degree at the University of Glasgow in Scotland and completed his residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital. His additional training includes a sports medicine fellowship at Children’s Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Kerr is certified to use ImPACT neuropsychological testing program to evaluate sports-related concussion.
