US Olympic Committee adds Dr. Cheri Blauwet to board of directors: 3 key notes

The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based United States Olympic Committee added three time paralympian and orthopedic surgeon Cheri Blauwet, MD, to its board of directors.

Here’s what you should know.

 

1. Dr. Blauwet is a three-time paralympian and a seven time medalist. She is the chairman of the International Paralympic Committee Medical Committee, a member of the International Olympic Committee Medical and Scientific Expert Group, and is a past treasurer on the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency board of directors.

 

2. She also runs a sports medicine practice at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both located in Boston.

 

3. Dr. Blauwet is filling the position left open by Ursula Burns, the outgoing independent director.
