The UPMC Youth Sports Playbook was designed to help coaches, athletic trainers and organizers set up safe environments to resume play.

The playbook recommends implementing standards in various areas, including social distancing, pre-participation physicals, personal protective equipment and illness protocols.

Sports medicine physician Jeanne Doperak, DO, spearheaded the development of the playbook with clinicians from UPMC’s sports medicine, orthopedic surgery and infectious disease departments.
